2023
Randolf Jimenez is thrilled to announce his new partnership with Focusrite interfaces, marking his seventh endorsement deal. He has been using Focusrite preamps for years and is delighted to have upgraded to 16 mic preamps with an extremely wide dynamic range, providing an all-analogue sound to his personal studio. Recently, he has been actively doing remote recording sessions for various artists and media projects.
In addition to his busy studio schedule, Randolf has also been working as a Dance Accompanist at the prestigious York University.
In addition to performing in local shows with different musicians, Randolf recently returned from a sold-out tour across Canada with international Iranian superstar Shajin Najafi. This summer, he also performed at the NXNE Festival with the Eurovision contestant band from Prague, “We are Domi”.
2021
Randolf has just recently released his very first drum method “The Groove Schoolbook”, under the umbrella of Mel Bay Publications.
“The Groove Schoolbook” is a complete guide to the most common drum set patterns used in rock, pop, funk, and shuffle music. It is also a handy source of more than 2500 possible technical combinations that will prepare a drummer for the stylistic variety of the most common grooves in modern drumming. Written in standard drum set notation, the book can be used by students and drummers of all ages, levels, and backgrounds. It can also be used by professionals as a reference book, or by anyone preparing for a university percussion program. The book’s intricate and interesting patterns will help students develop ambidexterity and four-limb independence. Includes access to online audio.
“The Groove Schoolbook” can be purchased here through Mel Bay’s website and all platforms and music stores where Mel Bay titles are found.
Randolf is also very happy to announce his new relationship with Tycoon Percussion becoming his sixth high-end endorsement deal.
2020
Despite of the challenges that 2020 brought, Randolf Jimenez has been very active composing music for commercials, movies and more. He has been also working a lot in the education field, by doing online and in-person drum and percussion lessons from his personal studio in Toronto.
He participated as the music co-producer, composer and percussionist in Venezuelan-duo Nael y Justin’s newest song “Salsa” which features Puerto Rican ‘Mackie’ and Latina Superstar ‘Yahaira Plasencia’. The song rapidly reached more than 1 million views on Youtube during the first month of being released.
Randolf is also co-producing new material for the rock fusion band ‘Malosaires’, and working non-stop in the studio doing remote sessions for different artists and projects.
